GENT’S RULES OF COMPETITION

All competitions to be played from the Competition Tees nominated for the event.

A copy of Local Rules will be on display in the Gents Locker Room and on the back of the score card.

Only members who have paid their subscriptions for the current year are allowed to compete.

Members WITHOUT an Active Handicap can enter and play in (but not win) MEDAL COMPETITIONS ONLY.

Each competitor must see his name is entered on the Competition Entry Sheets and Entrance Fees paid before taking out a Card. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. Each competition card must be marked by a Full or 5 Day Member of this Club or a Junior Member of this Club with a handicap of 17 or less.

All competition cards in qualifying competitions WHETHER OR NOT COMPLETE must be signed and entered into the Score Entry Terminal and returned  to the Organising Committee in the designated holding box. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN SUSPENSION OF PLAYING HANDICAP OR A BAN WILL BE IMPOSED BY THE COMMITTEE FROM THE NEXT COMPETITION.

All Matchplay Rounds/Finals MUST BE decided by the DATES DISPLAYED otherwise the PLAYERS WILL BE DISQUALIFIED. A match is not considered ‘decided’ until the Winner’s name has been put onto the notice board and entered into the Score Entry Terminal. It is the responsibility of the winning player to put their own name through.

The use of distance measuring devices is allowed in all competitions at HGC unless a notice is posted otherwise.  See local rule posted in the locker rooms or ask a member of the comps committee for details as some measuring devices are not permissible for playing in competitions.

With the exception of the medals played in the middle of the week and 36 hole competitions, all rounds must be completed by 9.00p.m. It is the responsibility of all competitors to enter their scores in the computer and to place their cards in the competition box IMMEDIATELY ON COMPLETION of their round.
